For this purpose the 13 is a total overkill. Why didn't you buy a SE?
That would have saved you a couple of Franklins.

I have never bothered with a big phone, I much
prefer a small phone, particularly when taking
it out of my pocket when in the car etc but also
when paying for almost everything with applepay.

    that i use only

I use it for everything when out and about, including
the kindle when in a doctor's surgery waiting to be
seen and with google maps when doing the garagfe/yard
sale run and checking my own personal local facefook
    garage/uard sale group.

I also almost exclusively use it for facebook and do all the
emails on the phone now rather than the PC,

Many people don't realize how much better the Mini 13 is than the SE2 or
SE3, and some of the advantages apply even if used only for phone calls.

The advantages of the 13 Mini are significant:
    1. AMOLED versus LCD
    2. mmWave 5G
    3. Significantly larger screen
    4. Smaller physical size (at least width and height, though slightly
    thicker)
    5. Higher capacity battery and longer battery life
    6. Magsafe

The 13 Mini screen is only slightly smaller than the 6s Plus (5.42"
diagonal versus 5.5" diagonal) so not sure why the OP found the keyboard
    to be noticeably smaller.

I wanted my wife to choose the 12 Mini at work but she chose the SE2, as
did most of her colleagues, for one reason, she works in the health care environment and it was the height of Covid and FaceID was a deal
breaker. That was before there was a modification to FaceID to make it
    work with masks.

many people don't agree with your claims.

The advantages of the 13 Mini are significant:
    1. AMOLED versus LCD
    2. mmWave 5G

both are minor, especially mmw 5g, which is not widely deployed at this
    time.

    3. Significantly larger screen

nope. it's just 113 points taller and 15 points *narrower*.

    4. Smaller physical size (at least width and height, though slightly
    thicker)

true, but that's also not significant.

    5. Higher capacity battery and longer battery life

both last more than a day.

    6. Magsafe

thats a convenience and not significant.

The 13 Mini screen is only slightly smaller than the 6s Plus (5.42"

but you just said the screen is significantly larger.

Yes, that signature is a piece of work. At least In 'N Out only prints

I study each and every one of the frequent posters to this newsgroup, and I would wager that Steve is a Myers-Briggs strong I and strong J type.

The strong I indicates that he jumps to conclusions without many facts
because his brain works off his own intuition & he _trusts_ his intuition.

Steve's mistake is in trusting his intuition more than he trusts facts.

The strong J means he orders his life precisely how he wants and for other people, he expects us to act the same way that he acts, but most do not.

Steve's mistake is expecting us to jump through the hoops he jumps through.

While Steve is best understood knowing he's a political animal who feels
the end justifies the means, everyone fits into Myers-Briggs somewhere,
just like everyone fits into the Dunning-Kruger graphs somewhere.

I assess Steve, unlike iKooks, is near to the left of the 3rd quartile.
By way of huge contrast, the iKooks are to the left of the first quartile.

I think that some people look only at the phone dimensions and not the

with you being the prime example.

once again, that's false, no matter how many times you repeat it.

what's also clear is you don't understand the difference between lcd
and oled technologies and ios renders content on each.

the 12/13 mini lacks a home button, so its screen is a little taller
(by 113 points), however, it's also *narrower* (by 15 points), which
directly affects the keyboard width and what started this.

your claim of 'much larger' is clearly false when one dimension is
    *smaller*.

further, the physical dimensions of the phone are nearly the same, with
the 12/13 mini 8.4mm taller and 4.4mm wider, which won't be noticeable
other than in a side-by-side comparison, or with a ruler. the width is
what matters for how it feels in the hand.

flying colors. She loves her phone and says the battery lasts
days. But it does sit in her purse 23.5 hours of the day???

Can she see with its tiny screen? I had to use zoom display option!

Considering that the iPhone Mini screen is much larger than the
iPhone 6 screen, it should be okay, unless she was having trouble
with the even tinier iPhone 6 screen.

Thank you for answering him sms. Personally I avoid his messages
because of that horrendous and non-standard signature he has.

I think that some people look only at the phone dimensions and not the
screen dimensions and don't realize how much larger the iPhone 12
Mini/13 Mini screen is than the iPhone SE2020/2023. The Mini has about a 18.5% larger screen and is much higher resolution (46% higher).

yes, but the 13 mini’s screen is considerably narrower than the 6s plus
and that forces a reduction in font size

True. But I think the original poster was comparing the iPhone 6 to the
    iPhone 13 Mini.

The screen on the Mini is only 0.03" (0.081cm) narrower than the 6.
Someone else was comparing the 6s Plus to the Mini. If price is not an
issue, and if FaceID versus fingerprint is not an issue, then, IMVAIO,
the Mini is a better choice.

For someone that's price-sensitive, IMVAIO, the iPhone 11 is the optimal
choice if you can live without 5G. It's $130 less expensive than an
SE2022 and much less expensive than a 13 Mini.

it has 15 fewer points, which is what matters for displaying content.

Also should mention that with the higher PPI number it's easier to read smaller fonts.

except when the display technology is different, which is the case when comparing an se2020 and a 13.

you're also confused about the difference between pixels and points.
    they are not the same.

Flagships from Samsung and Google are already at 500 PPI or higher and

except that anything past 300 ppi or so is imperceptible to the human
eye (depending on distance and an individual's vision).

it's nothing more than a bigger number to impress those who don't
    understand what it means.

the iPhone 16 Pro models are predicted to break the 500 PPI barrier.

no they're not, nor is there any reason for that to happen.

it's far to early for any rumours for the iphone 16. it's still early
    for iphone 15 rumours.
