"Starting August 15, 2023, carrier connection with AT&T, T-Mobile, or
Verizon is required for all iPhone purchases made with ACMI [Apple Card
Monthly Installments."
So if you're buying an iPhone directly from Apple, and using it on an
MVNO, or carrier owned prepaid service, you won't get the 0% financing
anymore. This is likely because there is no payment to Apple, from the carriers, except for postpaid service.
Nothing about having to keep service on the postpaid account to retain
the 0% financing. The phones are unlocked so they can be taken to any
carrier. I guess that once Apple gets the money from the carrier they
don't care if the buyer switches carriers.
