I suspect both of those drugs are without a patent now...

Big-pharma is like a lot of companies, and the public can choose to
buy their products, or not buy them.

I'm not defending them, but it does take serious bucks to get a drug
    approved.

Once the patent runs out, then others can produce it much cheaper.

So yes, they can milk it for awhile....

Among the pharmaceutical executives who signed the petition
criticizing Kacsmaryk's ruling was Albert Bourla, CEO of the
pharmaceutical giant Pfizer, which has produced the biggest-selling
COVID-19 vaccine and treatment in the U.S.

The document warns that the decision diminishes the FDA's authority
over drug approvals. A Pfizer spokeswoman verified for The Associated
Press that Bourla signed the letter.

"If courts can overturn drug approvals without regard for science or
evidence, or for the complexity required to fully vet the safety and
efficacy of new drugs, any medicine is at risk for the same outcome as mifepristone," the letter states.

Problem here is politicians (including court system) can be absolute
in power/control. GOP, and a number of their base, have a track
record of saying "fuck you" to science. Delusional people, with the
base being clueless mostly, and their leaders telling falsehoods.

On the other hand, those who brought forth this case, as based upon
some legal scholars's viewpoints, were not "angels" in their presentation....playing dirty pool via BS.

The Good and Bad of the Fifth Circuit's Abortion Pill Ruling

The appeals court's unpublished order avoids some of the district
court's errors, but still has some significant problems, especially
    with regard to standing.

The Supreme Court is poised to make its first major abortion-related
decision since overturning Roe v. Wade last June. Justices have given themselves until 11:59 p.m. Friday to decide whether mifepristone, one
of two drugs used in more than half of abortion procedures in this
country, should remain available as courts weigh a challenge to the
    drug's safety.

The Supreme Court on Friday protected access to a widely used
abortion drug by freezing lower-court rulings that placed restrictions
on its usage as appeals play out.

As a result, the US Food and Drug Administration's approval of the
drug mifepristone and subsequent actions that made it more easily
accessible will remain in place while appeals play out - potentially
    for months to come.

The Friday night move is a striking victory for the Biden
administration and its allies in the abortion rights community, which
suffered a withering defeat at the Supreme Court last year when the conservative majority reversed the Roe v. Wade precedent that
    protected abortion rights nationwide.

Time for SCOTUS to research this topic, in case its in their face
    again.

From legal eagles, those who brought forth this case don't have
"standing" in their minds. Which if true, then the case gets thrown
    into the trash can.
