    In those days, it was common for females to wash their hair at the
    kitchen sink. LBJ's bathroom is quite large, which was not common in
    most homes.

    1970's design was so gross.

    On an unrelated note, the location of that telephone is also gross. I
    don't care if you're the president or not, there's no need for a phone
    to be so close to the john... whether it's a corded or mobile phone.
    Reading material in a bathroom also seems unsanitary and unnecessary.
