Editors in The New York Post's newsroom now regularly hand down
anti-Trump story assignments and the editor in chief gets involved to
make sure the tone is right, sources told me

Yuk. I'm not a huge fan of the Post, but I'm even more loathe to be
shown so plainly, that modern journalists do nothing more than expouse
the political views of their corporate sponsors. Double yuk.

Was no fan of Trump, but I give him credit for opening my eyes to this phenomenon and my own naivete about the matter. First I saw it in Fox
etc. but then I began to see it everywhere. No I can't unsee it.

Back in the days of Cable TV (No HBO, no Cable Channels, just TV
channels), TV stations and newspapers carried the political news,
    mostly as politicians told them.

Pentagon papers and Watergate represented the elites dirty laundry,
but by and large, most of this dirty laundry was kept in the closet,
out of sight from the public.

Yellow journalism (tabloid journalism) has been around, but I suspect
in recent thirty/forty years, it has attracted more clueless people.

"Modern journalism" is still valid, and it is independent of political
"tabloid journalism," but people have to seek it out.
