OK, that's seriously tempting; I'd really like to have one of those.

I wonder how difficult the kit, if purchased, is to assemble?

I found information on her website, that it's an easy job, with no
soldering required. Very nice! I reached out to clarify if they will
    support T-Mobile's 4g.

If so, I am seriously considering one of these for my next mobile phone.
My ancient Nokia 3390 is still chugging along on T-Mobile 2g, although
    just barely.

"VLSI refers to an integrated circuit technology with numerous devices
    on a single chip"

I would suspect she acquired a VLSI chip for mobile phones. Usually,
these chips are designed so other companies can use them; many person
hours are required to build them, and then the equipment to fabricate
them has to be setup...very costly to do...hence chips for other
    companies to use.

    Example
Samsung orders $34M GSM chips from VLSI
    03.29.1999
    https://www.eetimes.com/samsung-orders-34m-gsm-chips-from-vlsi/

This was in 1999 above....today, these chips would be design for
    today's market place.

I am very impressed at her level of skill, and the equipment that she
has in her home. It's far beyond my technical skill. The $300-some
asking price of that phone is well justified for the time and effort she
    has into that project.
