'Disgusting': Simple act Aussies do that could see them cop a heavy
    fine

There's a simple thing so many of us are doing wrong without realising
it, and now social media users have unleashed on the ignorant. It
turns out we could face a huge fine, too.
    ...
    ...
No, we're not talking about littering, or graffiti. We're talking
about making rock cairns, which were historically used as navigational
aids when there was no obvious track to follow.

Seems OK, right? Well the problem began when people started making the
rock stacks for fun, or to feature in Instagram snaps.
    ...
    ...
"Our parks and forests are wild areas that need to stay wild ... Rock
stacks which are purely for somebody's pleasure, are becoming a
    problem in many parks.

We recently came across many rock stacks in one area of Cania Gorge
    National Park.

"Look beyond what may be visually pleasing to some, notice how the dry
creek bed is now bare of its rock cover! All these stacked rocks
should be on the ground serving their purpose."

Huh, interesting. Plenty of them in the area around me, too. I think
people around here get a "creating zen" vibe out of it, since the parks
are too small to get lost in.

The problem is always the same: too many people on earth, and so many
    of them idiots.
