Warren Buffett Selling $28.7 Billion in Stock Rings Alarm Bell Over
    Economy

Warren Buffett's firm Berkshire Hathaway sold $28.7 billion of stock
in the first three quarters of 2023 in a move that some economists
have interpreted as ringing alarm bells for the American economy.
    ...
    ...
As Buffett is considered one of the greatest investors of all time, as
well as one of America's richest men, his moves are closely observed
    and analyzed.
    ...
    ...
But it's also, crucially, a sign "that a recession is right around the
    corner," Hanke told Newsweek.

I read this earlier today. Hmmm, I'm not convinced. How does that
compare to what he's bought? He buys and sells all the time.
Bloomberg spent all of 2023 screaming about an impending recession that
never came to fruition. You could almost smell their disappointment.
Is the End finally near? I doubt it. And is this the "ONE"
easily-understood, easily transmitted signal that dumbass Americans can
track to know whether things are good or bad? I higly doubt it.

    Suck it, american "journalists."

In the 22-month stretch between the start of January 2022 and end of
October 2023, Berkshire Hathaway has built up a more than 228
million-share stake in oil and gas stock Occidental. Such a large
position signals that the Oracle of Omaha expects crude oil prices to
remain elevated for the foreseeable future.

The Oracle of Omaha also can't help himself when it comes to tech
stock Apple (AAPL 0.79%). Even though Apple already accounts for 47%
of Berkshire Hathaway's $343 billion of invested assets, he and his
team have been purchasing additional shares of the iPhone maker from
    time to time.
