Forget the 'tripledemic.' The U.S. is headed for a 'syndemic' this
winter--and experts warn we're not prepared

COVID will likely reach levels this winter not yet seen this year,
combining with surges of flu, RSV, and other pathogens for a
"syndemic" winter not so different from last year's "tripledemic,"
    experts say.

Raj Rajnarayanan, assistant dean of research and associate professor
at the New York Institute of Technology campus in Jonesboro, Ark.,
told Fortune that the U.S. is a "sitting duck" in the face of a
    "syndemic" winter.

    https://fortune.com/well/2023/12/01/flu-covid-rsv-syndemic-tripledemic-winter-2023-respiratory-virus/

Syndemic - A syndemic or synergistic epidemic is the aggregation of
two or more concurrent or sequential epidemics or disease clusters in
a population with biological interactions, which exacerbate the
prognosis and burden of disease. The term was developed by Merrill
Singer in the early 1990s to call attention to the synergistic nature
of the health and social problems facing the poor and underserved.[1]
Syndemics develop under health disparity, caused by poverty, stress,
or structural violence and are studied by epidemiologists and medical anthropologists concerned with public health, community health and the
effects of social conditions on health.

Experts need to shut the fuck up.

I'm 100% pro-science and even I'm tired of all the warnings.
Tripledemic, Syndemic, Exademic, Unidemic, keep making this shit up, I
don't care. We are biological creatures and live in a generally hostile ecosystem we managed to briefly tame.

If there's a -demic of any kind, people will die, maybe even me. But I
sure as fuck am tired of all the warnings.

I believe the news media is "hungry" for more bytes.

Don't blame the experts....one may be pointing the finger in the wrong direction.

Well, we're about halfway through the winter now. Everybody enjoying
the Syndemic we were woefully unprepared for? Asshats.

Jay Weiland, a top COVID forecaster, told Fortune in late 2023 there
is a "reasonable chance" this winter's COVID wave will surpass that of
2022, when a "tripledemic" of pathogens pushed children's hospitals
beyond capacity south of the border.

The troopers (hospital staff) were aware of this COVID forecaster's
remarks, and when the sicken folks came marching in at higher rates,
then the troopers sounded the Mayday call (it's happening).
