    S. Jay Olshansky, a professor of public health of the University of
Illinois at Chicago, has pushed back against the idea of any sort of
age limit for holding office. A person's chronological age "is not a
good barometer of biological age," he told NPR this month. "You can
get people into their 80s and 90s that can operate at levels that are
10, 20, 30 years younger than their chronological age. And the reverse
is also true." He said some people -- like Biden and former President
Donald Trump -- are what are called "superagers," or "individuals that
make it out past the age of 80 that are functioning at a cognitive
level that is often decades younger than their chronological age."

As it stands, though, we don't have enough information to assess what
McConnell has been going through, including whether or how it could
affect his ability to govern. The lack of information from McConnell
and his staff has contributed to intense speculation. Experts have
rattled off potential causes ranging in seriousness from dehydration
to a mini-stroke, known as a transient ischemic attack.

If Biden had suffered anything even remotely similar (or maybe he has?
who knows?) the Republican media would be shitting themselves with
rage. They've tried hard to make Biden's age/health an important
election issue, with somewhat marginal success. Where's the rage now, fucktards?

Interesting that this piece confirms JAB's hypothesis that it could be
    a TIA.

Clearly McConnell is coming unglued. Wheel him the hell offstage.
Let's get Diane whats-her-face outta here too. Power must be delicious
that these decrepit old fools refuse to let go of it even as their
    bodies fail them publically.

Wait! Alternative hypothesis: in his free time, McConnell is following
either Dead&Co (remnants of the Grateful Dead) or Phish around, and is,
in fact, well and truly tripping balls/stoned off his gourd. Could
be! He does look like he is momentarily what we call "High as Fuck."

Considering congressional folks have excellent health care available,

He should be using something like an antiplatelet agent, or he is

Irrevelant whether or not he knows. What matters is, does he have the cognitive ability to do his job? And the answer is: NO.

Either Mitch has a medical condition, or he is faking it.

"Mitch McConnell 'medically clear" to continue schedule after health
    scare: Capitol doctor"

Brian Monahan, the attending physician of the U.S. Congress, said
that he had consulted with McConnell and his neurology team.

"Occasional lightheadedness is not uncommon in concussion recovery
and can also be expected as a result of dehydration," Monahan added.

Having a brain injury is one thing. Not sure those three can blame
their asshattery on a physiological injury; more likely they're just
asshats. But your point stands: Congress is such a steaming pile of
    manure these days.

I've seen elderly people who simply freeze up like that due to dementia.
Sometimes, they are walking, and they just freeze in place. It
can/will worsen... I knew a woman who could freeze in place for an hour.

Why would he fake something like that. Would serve him no purpose.

2026 is when he could be re-elected. Many voters would forget about
    what has happened by then.

Biden/Trump are old farts, and many Republicans would like both to be
history. GOP has touched upon Biden's age

Yes, Joe Biden Is Old. Is That All Republicans Have to Run On? https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2023/07/joe-biden-donald-trump-gop-2024-election

IIRC, in both episodes, his freeze happened after a reporter asked him
if he was going to run again.

He may have a medical issue, but his character is not saintly.

    ==========================

One of the key reasons Gene Wilder introduced the limp to Willy
Wonka's character in the 1971 hit film "Charlie and the Chocolate
Factory" was to make it difficult for the audience to tell if he was
lying or not. The limp was a deliberate part of Wilder's performance
strategy to keep the audience guessing about Wonka's true intentions
    and emotions.

Wilder wanted to convey a sense of unpredictability and ambiguity in
the character. By using the limp as a physical quirk, he could
emphasize the idea that Willy Wonka was a complex and enigmatic
individual. This made it challenging for the audience to discern
whether he was being sincere or putting on an act, which added an
extra layer of intrigue to the character's interactions with the
    children and their families.

His federal retirement checks would be in the $100k/year plus range.
If taking SS now, somewhere in the $4,555/month range. Unless he spends/spends, he should be debt free.

What is Mitch McConnell medical condition?

A four-line letter, signed by the attending physician of Congress and
released by Senator Mitch McConnell on Thursday, suggested that his
recent spells of speechlessness were linked to "occasional
lightheadedness" perhaps brought on by his recovery from a concussion
    last winter or "dehydration."

    =============================

Without see full videos, before/during, I can't evaluate, if its
    possible.

Dehydration - I would find that puzzling
Lightheadedness - Is he breathing in/out differently?

These episodes are indirectly/directly casting doubt on older
citizens. Would the GOP/Mitch/etc cook up such an idea? Yes.

Have to wait/see if Republicans boot him out...or if he decides to
leave. Also, how long he lives....
