In 1947, a young Stanley Kubrick, at the age of 19, captured a
photograph titled "Shoe shiners taking a lunch break, New York City."
The original black and white photo was later colorized. Kubrick's
passion for still photography was ignited at the age of 13 when his
father gifted him a Graflex camera. By the time he was 17, he had
already sold his first photo to Look magazine and eventually became a
staff photographer.
