Queensland man extradited, charged over decades-old sexual assault

A Queensland man has been extradited to Western Australia over an
alleged sexual assault from more than 30 years ago.


WA Police allege the 48-year-old man, who was 17 years old at the
time, broke into a 23-year-old woman's home in Embleton, Perth in the
early hours of Friday, April 17, 1992, before assaulting her at
knifepoint.

He allegedly tied her up and repeatedly sexually assaulted her for
over half an hour.

The man cannot be publicly identified as he was a minor when the
alleged crime was committed.

He will face the Children's Court next week and did not apply for
bail.
