Usually yes. However, the judge can order the defendant "remanded" as
soon as the verdict comes in. This might happen if the defendant is
convicted of a serious crime where probation isn't an option, or if the
judge is quite sure that he's going to sentence the defendant to prison
but just hasn't decided how long.

I do so have a memory. It's backed up on DVD... somewhere...

It makes it much easier to read if you don't break up the question with
part in the subject and part in the body. Put the basic idea ("out on
bail") in the subject and then the full text in the body.

It's up to the judge. If it looks likely that jail time/prison will be
imposed (almost always the case if sentencing is delayed), the judge
would probably cancel the bail. If it's a case of "well, I'll probably
just slap you with a huge fine but I need time to decide how huge" it
may be the judge continues with "but it'll be under $1,000,000. So pony
up a full $1,000,000 bond and then when I decide, you'll get some back."

I.e. the whole idea of bail is to make it painful to skip bail but if
the bail is only $10k and the person's been actually convicted and
looking at 10 years, they'd be gone in five seconds flat and sipping
margaritas in Mexico if given a chance.
