• Does the constitution allow "cruel and unusual" federal or State laws"?

    cruel and unusual punishments are not allowed - but how about calling actions punishable that are punishable only under cruel and unusual laws (in Texas - if you drive a Taxi to take a woman to an abortion clinic).

    Calling something cruel does not make it so, and conversely. Just like
    calling a horse a bird just because it happens to have a feather or two
    on it, doesn't make it a bird.
