I see this about other people too, but this one was on the news just
    now:

What does it mean that Weiselberg has agreed to cooperate about the
trump organization but not about trump himself.

They put him on the witness stand and ask him questions. If he pleads
the 5th, they give him transaction immunity like they would have during
the agremeent he refuses to make, and then if he wont' answer he's in
    contempt, more jail time.

Can I just refuse to cooperate regarding the criminals I know? The
    ones I committed crimes with?

I think you can tell, but just to be sure:
    I am not a lawyer.

This may be part of a deal he made with the DoJ. He pleads guilty to tax evasion, does 5 months in jail, pays a bunch of money, and he'll testify against the Trump Organization but not about The Donald.

I don't think he has privilege or anything like that, but if they start
asking him about Trump as a person he might be able to say, "That's not
in the deal. If you want to revoke it, then I'll assert my 5th Amendment privilege."

Or maybe his dealings with Trump personally might be self-incriminating
and so he could assert the 5th if they ask him, because those weren't
part of the deal. But if that's the case, I don't know why the US
Attorney didn't simply include those in the deal.

    It is a bit mystifying.
