    Some of those Southern states have been prosecuting women for
    miscarriages, mostly because when all you have is a dead fetus, it's
    hard to tell whether it died naturally ("spontaneous abortion" aka "miscarriage") or was aborted by chemicals or surgery (therapeutic
    abortion).

    And yes, some women have been put in jail for taking drugs while pregnant.

    The whole thing makes me sick.
