Hello all,
Several years ago, I filed an eviction action in a Florida country. The Sheriff at that time was not too diligent (or bright) and after 3+
weeks, he had not delivered or posted the summons. I called him on the
phone to politely inquire why the summons had not been delivered. He
told me he wasn't worried about it. I had to go over his head to get responsible action.
Fast forward to today. A different Sheriff. About a week and a half
ago, I filed another eviction. So far, no delivery or posting.
I'm wondering about the standards of conduct for Florida sheriffs re: delivering a summons. What goes for acceptable conduct in this area?
