CONCORD, N.H. —
Two women were arrested this week after police said one of the
women injected drugs into the other while she was in labor in
September.
Police said Felicia Farruggia, 29, was in labor at a Concord,
N.H., home when she asked Rhianna Frenette, 37, to give her
heroin and methamphetamine before calling 911.
Farruggia refused to allow neighbors to call 911 until she was
administered the drugs, police said.
Frenette eventually complied with the request, giving Farruggia
the drugs with an unsanitary syringe, police said.
Police said emergency crews arrived and carried Farruggia to an
ambulance, where she gave birth to a baby boy. Farruggia and the
baby were taken to Concord Hospital, where they were admitted
for several days.
Police said the baby was taken into the state’s custody, where
he remains.
Frenette faces misdemeanor and felony charges of reckless
conduct. Farruggia is charged with a felony count of reckless
conduct.
