    [When I bought the 1st edition of Ritter's book back in 1993, I at first didn't realize the value of such a list. Not being one keen on following personalities, I dismissed the list as nearly silly. Then, suddenly remembering how Americans are so entralled with such publications as
    People magazine, and the various other media that focus so much on personalities, I recognized the importance of Ritter's list and the one below.]
