The Performance Architect will work in tandem with the QA Lead to develop Performance and User Experience testing solutions for complex, multi-tiered web applications. The Performance Architect will work with the customer to define their testing
architecture needs and provide technical leadership to the QA Organization. This is leadership positioned expected to develop and recommend improvement opportunities related to the discipline.
Responsibilities
Design and drive implementation of the performance test frameworks needed to test a complex, high-throughput distributed system for performance, user experience, scale and security
Translate performance data into executive-level insights and recommendations
Establish a performance and UX reporting method that succinctly and accurately summarizes status and watch items, backed by data from test results
Work with Management to communicate plans and priorities
Utilize test automation to increase efficiency, and partner with QA Leads to improve overall test coverage
Collaborating with developers to propose appropriate test strategies
Thorough analytical skills to provide root cause analysis of issues.
Continuously improve the architecture and technical direction of UX and performance tests
Work with developers to troubleshoot major product issues, determine root causes, and identify solutions
Analyze defect patterns across entire product and drive test initiatives to resolve these or prevent them in the future
Researching, recommending and implementing new, innovative ways of providing quality services
Recognizing and communicating opportunities to add value or improve processes within the QA team
Qualifications
A minimum of 8-10 years of (hands-on) embedded software design experience with uniformly increasing levels of responsibility (i.e., toward serving as a lead performance architect)
Strong communication skills both oral and written
Experience with test tools (preferably HP ALM, UFT, LoadRunner, JIRA, New Relic, Catch Point, HTTP Watch)
Has expert level understanding of complete performance test methods and various frameworks
Technical leadership experience
End-to-end experience from software test planning, development, and execution
Experience using scripting and programming languages (VB Script, Perl Script, JavaScript, java etc.), Object Oriented Design (OOD) and coding techniques, and Structured Query Language (SQL)
Successful track record of estimation and delivery of projects on time
Strong problem-solving skills
Knowledge of agile software development and continuous integration work practices
