Application Performance Engineer

Role Value Proposition: The performance engineer will define, develop, execute performance/load test framework and integrate them with an automated test system. This role requires the ability to educate development teams on how to build performance
tests using the defined framework and best practices into their daily work.

Key Responsibilities:
- Defines framework, set of best practices and KPI’s for performance/load requirements that can be used by cross-functional teams.
- Defines, develops and executes effective performance test automation scripts using tools and techniques to simulate large digital environments, such as HP Loadrunner, Jmeter, Gatling, etc.
- Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to understand project objectives, gather performance requirements/measures, design automated tests, troubleshoot issues, and implement scalable performance test automation solutions.
- Analyzes test results and provides comprehensive reporting and works closely with solution architects, developers and operations team to log defects for performance requirements that are not met, identify performance degradation against previous
baselines and pinpoint other potential bottlenecks.
- Establishes and maintains baseline test runs for multiple systems and applications in various test environments.
Required Experience:
• Min 5 years of experience using automated test tools for Functional and/or Performance, Stability, Scalability, and Reliability testing using LoadRunner, WebTest, JMeter, Fit, FitNesse, Ruby, Soasta or others
• Min 5 years of object oriented programming experience with C#, Java, C++, Rest API, Sitecore AP
• Hands-on experience with performance monitoring tools such as New Relic APM, App Dynamics, mPulse, Compuware APM, Akamai, Soasta.
• Experience with performance testing a very large digital presence.
• Experience with the RAIL Model
• Experience analyzing bot
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Creative and independent problem solver
Preferred Experience:
• Experience with diagnostics tools to identify root cause
• Experience mentoring/training of performance testing process & tools across various teams
• Strong written, oral & presentation skills
• Must be able to work independently as well as within a group while handling projects
