    My issue is not with leaving. It is with how it was done. Biden totally botched it. You must have time to evacuate diplomats, Americans and sympathetic Afghans. What we have instead, is a free for all.

    When the Russians took over Afghanistan, arrested the president, because he wasn't tough enough with the Taliban.
    President was turned over to an opposition group , who killed him and dragged his body behind a car on the streets of Kabul all day for everyone to see.

    These families may never see their children again. The Trump admin had some pretty smart cabinet members. Biden admin not so much. Harris is a real zero. If Harris every became president, the Senate would go to the Republicans because as President, she

    Milley(sp?) was instructed by the administration to protect the embassy.
    He said they don't have enough spare troops to do what he was being
    ordered to do. [My impression (possibly wrong) is that that situation
    was caused at least in part by the troop withdrawals already under way,
    which, as I commented in (2), maybe should have been done last.]

    According to the news I've seen, it was Milley, in the absence of enough troops, who directed that Baghram be abandoned in order to get the
    troops required to guard the embassy. AFAIK (and I could be wrong),
    they simply abandoned the AFB and all the equipment there, even though
    Baghram was much more secure, especially for Americans, than Karzai International airport which they're using for evacuations now.

    To your original question: I think Trump's military guys would have done better.

    Yes. STUPID has consequences. I don't like watching people die stupidly. But it happens every day.


    Pretty sick with families lifting their children over walls to get them to safety. These families may never see their children again. The Trump admin had some pretty smart cabinet members. Biden admin not so much. Harris is a real zero. If Harris every
    became president, the Senate would go to the Republicans because as President, she cannot vote.

    Are you saying that desperate people attempting to save their children is a sick event? That they would rather GIVE up there child knowing that they might grow up in a better place than within a war. Hoping their child will have a better life than
    what the parents can provide with a war going on. That was an act of unselfish love IMO. Perhaps it is something you just can't understand.
