Guaranteed income from taxing the MEGA-Wealthy is the only
answer but how do you sell this concept?

Well it has been advocated by both conservative and liberal
    economists.

This disparity of Rich and Poor is a situation we must
examine in a meaningful way. Hand outs never really work
but hand-ups via FREE education could be a good start...

It was observed that the response of several western governments
to the pandemic was effectively a guaranteed income and that
did work out fairly well. There were op-ed articles in the
Globe and Mail that the initial Canada Emergency Response Benefit
would be a good starting point for such a program.

Canada has run two trials of such a program. The initial one
back in the 1970s was then described a "negative income tax"
in a medium sized town for a few years. It was monitored and
data collected. However, a Conservative government killed
the program and buried the data before it was really analyzed.
About 30 years later the data was released and the economists
concluded it was a great success.

A second smaller study was started in Ontario a about 4 years
ago. From the newspaper reports if seemed to be working.
(People using the money to start businesses or further
    their education.)
However, a Conservative provincial government was elected
and it was killed less than a year into the the planned
    several year program.

    There goes the neighborhood.

I sometimes rag on Canada but it is manufactured foolishness My experiences living there were wonderful. Though I only know what it was like living in Vancouver. ( N. Van) for a year in 2000-2001 I was not aware of much of the politics. But the
people and the environment were really nice. My hosts lived right above the Horseshoe Bay Harbor in a massive house... I skied Whistler and Backcomb Glacier which was totally amazing... The people I met were all really nice and my USD went a long
way. (+120%) I had some dental procedures performed and they were quite affordable and the work was top notch. I didn't even have to show my papers to get in or out of the country. I wonder how much it has changed....
Anyone here live in Vancouver? Hit me up!

No homeowners rights.. BlackRock owns you in time.

Some years ago I bought Barclays because they were the big player
in ETFs. This went well until the financial crisis when Barclays
had made the same screw-ups as many other banks. They survived
without a government bailout, but in the process sold off the ETF
business (iShares) to Blackrock. So I started buying Blackrock.
My Barclays investment is still underwater, but I've made more
on the Blackrock investment than my Barclays loss.

I have long recognized that Blackrock was manages by some smart peeps.. It is more of a BUY and never sell...
