    Excerpts:

The United Nations has changed the Repub-
lic of Turkey’s country name at the organi-
    zation from “Turkey” to “Türkiye”.

Turkey (Türkiye) began the move to change
    its internationally recognised official name
in English to Türkiye in December after the
Türkiye President ... released a memorandum
& asked the public to use Türkiye to describe
    the country in every language.

“Türkiye is accepted as an umbrella brand for
our country in national & international venues,”
... “Türkiye is the best representation & expres-
sion of the Türkiye people’s culture, civilization
    & values.”

The Türkiye President also advised compan-
ies to use “made in Türkiye” for their exported
goods, & instructed state agencies to use Tür-
    kiye in their correspondence.

Hmmm, well, name changes happen more fre-
quently than most people realize, but needless
to say, it often takes time and it will take quite
awhile for people to stop using Turkey & start
    using Türkiye.

Best of luck to Türkiyeans in that regard.

Disparate High Glucose Conditions, it's taking
awhile for people to stop using diabetes & dia-
betic and start using the 7 new superior clarify-
ing names. Hopefully, some day that effort will
    have success. (-: https://www.change.org/p/jdrf-www-jdrf-org-stop-diabetes-diabetic-confusion-with-new-superior-clarifying-terms

    Follow-up:

A video with information about the attempt
to change the name of Turkey to Türkiye.
What the video ignored is the fact that all
of the associated names also are in need
    of changing.

    Turkish or Turks becomes Türkiyeans.
    Turkic becomes Türkiyeic.

will it catch on? | DW News

A reminder: Language changes & evolves,
just as all life on, below, & above Earth
changes & evolves over time. The video
says Turkey has been used for 100 years
as the name of a country, acting as if that
    is a long time - it's not.

Dinosaurs were around for 150 million
years. Then one day, a catastrophic col-
    lision destroyed almost all dinosaurs
albeit birds are a survivor of that extinc-
    tion event, see the following:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bird

    Birds are feathered theropod dinosaurs
and constitute the only known living dino-
saurs. Likewise, birds are considered rep-
tiles in the modern cladistic sense of the
term, and their closest living relatives are
    the crocodilians.

Birds are descendants of the primitive avi-
    alans (whose members include Archaeop-
teryx) which first appeared about 160 mil-
lion years ago (mya) in China.

According to DNA evidence, modern birds
(Neornithes) evolved in the Middle to Late
    Cretaceous, and diversified dramatically
around the time of the Cretaceous–Paleo-
gene extinction event 66 mya, which killed
off the pterosaurs and all non-avian dino-
    saurs.

Everything is now, always, the past but an
historical precedent resulting in the now,
the future never in the now 'til it's now, and
then it's history. Language, the following
estimates it's 150,000 years or so in age,
but written language is only 6,000 years or
    so in age. https://www.wondriumdaily.com/origin-of-language-when-did-it-start-and-how-did-it-evolve

The English language that most in this news-
group speak is a relatively young language in
many respects. Put another way, English is a
West Germanic language that originated from
Anglo-Frisian languages brought to Britain in ...

... the mid 5th to 7th centuries AD by Anglo-
Saxon migrants from what is now northwest
Germany, southern Denmark and the Nether-
    lands ... :
