    *** CAUTIONARY NOTE ***

    As has happened since the Covid-19 pandemic
    began, U.S. leadership tends to lighten up on the
    fight against Covid-19 when their hope for beat-
    ing the pandemic outweighs their wise efforts to
    prevent and counter the pandemic.

    I've had Islit (Insulinitis, near-total to total loss of
    endogenous insulin) since age 5, for over 61 years,
    & live in a county that currently has "Substantial"
    transmission & positivity rate, & as such, I will con-
    tinue double-mask wearing & avoiding shopping
    except for trips to buy food.

    ~~~
    Website to check the transmission rate
    in your county:
    https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-view
    Description of transmission rates https://www.cnn.com/2021/07/28/health/substantial-or-high-covid-19-transmission-wellness/index.html
    o "Low" transmission is no more than
    10 cases per 100,000 people, or a test
    positivity rate of less than 5%.
    o "Moderate" transmission is 10 to 50
    cases per 100,000 people, or a positivity
    rate between 5% and 8%.
    o "Substantial" transmission is 50 to 100
    cases per 100,000, or a positivity rate
    between 8% and 10%
    o "High" transmission is 100 or more cases
    per 100,000 people or a positivity rate of
    10% or higher.
    If a county has values in two different trans-
    mission levels, then the CDC uses the metric
    that is higher.
    ~~~

    In my county, 53 cases in last 7 days =
    "Substantial" transmission & positivity rate
    of 8.75% = "Substantial" positivity rate.

    As I stated above, due to my having Islit
    & a fear of Covid-19 that has not abated,
    I will continue double-mask wearing &
    avoiding shopping except for trips to buy
    food & my next appointment with my doc-
    tor on March 18 at which I plan to try to ...

    ... get the new Omnipod 5 (auto-dosing of
    basal insulin based on integrated CGM glu-
    cose levels).

    Per the following U.S. graph, the U.S. reached
    a 2022 low in 7 day average of new Covid-19
    cases on April 1 2022, with 26,685 new cases.

    Since then, a steady rise up to close to 115,000
    new cases in mid-May 2022, that's remained in
    that neighborhood since then. Latest level is
    114,674 new cases as of July 28 2022. https://prohuman.net/pix2/CovidGraph-UnitedStates-NewCases-as-of-072822.png

    The transmission rate in my county, depends
    on which website you use, one said it's "High",
    another said it's "Moderate". On a recent trip
    to 2 grocery stores, I was the only customer
    wearing a mask (2 masks, actually, as I'm
    still double-masking).

    All employees were wearing a mask.

    The Omnipod 5 had a wide-scale roll-out
    per an article dated June 5 2022, and after
    22 days of trying to get it, beginning on
    June 22 2022 and not being OKed by the
    pharmacy authorized to provide it until
    July 14 2022, I received it July 18 2022.

    All of those problems documented in
    this newsgroup at the following posting
    thread: https://groups.google.com/g/misc.health.diabetes/c/SmiuxqSoTSU/m/ShqsbNMaAgAJ

    My usage of the Omnipod 5 documented
