Pancreatic Cancer Risk Factors
https://www.cancer.org/cancer/pancreatic-cancer/causes-risks-prevention/risk-factors.html
A risk factor is anything that increases your
chance of getting a disease such as cancer.
Different cancers have different risk factors.
Some risk factors ... can be changed. Others,
like a person’s age or family history, can’t be
changed.
In some cases, there might be a factor that
may decrease your risk of developing cancer
or has an unclear effect. ...
Having a risk factor, or even many, does not
mean that you will get cancer. And some peo-
ple who get cancer may have few or no known
risk factors.
Here are some of the risk factors known to in-
crease your risk for pancreatic cancer.
Risk factors that can be changed
Tobacco use
Smoking is one of the most important risk fac-
tors for pancreatic cancer.
The risk of getting pancreatic cancer is about
twice as high among smokers compared to
those who have never smoked.
About 25% of pancreatic cancers are thought
to be caused by cigarette smoking.
Cigar smoking & the use of smokeless tobacco
products also increase the risk.
However, the risk of pancreatic cancer starts
to drop once a person stops smoking .
BMI 30 or more
BMI 30 or more is a risk factor for pancreatic
cancer, about 20% more likely to develop pan-
creatic cancer.
Gaining weight as an adult can also increase
risk.
Carrying extra weight around the waistline may
be a risk factor even in people who are not BMI
30 or more.
Cellosis (see below or definition)
Pancreatic cancer is more common in people
with Cellosis. The reason for this is not known. ...
[Duh, BMI 30 or higher, a primary risk factor
in causing Preventable Cellosis, that's known]
Chronic pancreatitis
Chronic pancreatitis, a long-term inflammation
of the pancreas, is linked with an increased risk
of pancreatic cancer. Chronic pancreatitis is
often seen with heavy alcohol use and smoking.
Workplace exposure to certain chemicals
Heavy exposure at work to certain chemicals
used in the dry cleaning and metal working in-
dustries may raise
a person’s risk of pancreatic cancer.

Per the following article, Cellosis (new superior
clarifying name for continued problematic endo-
genous insulin production unable to keep HbA1c
< 6.5) for longer than 10 years may have a 50%
increased risk of pancreatic cancer as compared
with individuals without Cellosis.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pancreatic_cancer
Also, pancreatic cancer may cause Cellosis; how-
ever, different studies disagree, & in a chicken &
egg analogy, difficult to tell when Cellosis causes
or results from pancreatic cancer.
If pancreatic cancer is operated on and endogen-
ous insulin production is near-totally or totally lost,
Trauma / Pancreatectomy Islit can occur.

Insulitis Islit (the predominate type)
since March 1961, age 5.

o There is 1 slow onset type of Islit,
Latent Autoimmune Islit.
o There are 21 specific types of the
most widespread DHGC which is present
in up to 95% of those with any DHGC,
Cellosis, new clarifying name for
type 2 diabetes, its precondition is
called PreCellosis.
The only preventable/reversible DHGC is
Preventable Cellosis, new clarifying spe-
cific type of the preventable type 2 dia-
betes, estimated to be the type that at
least 85% of Americans with Cellosis have.
Risk for Preventable Cellosis, Hyperten-
sion, & Cardiovascular Disease increases
as one's weight increases but BMI risk in-
creases at lower BMI levels in non-white
individuals:

o There is 1 specific type of DHGC that
happens in < 10% of pregnancies called
Gestational Cellosis.
o There are 11 specific types of dimin-
ished insulin production, monogenic
conditions called Diminosis.
o There are 12 specific type of dimin-
ished insulin production that happens
up to 6 months after birth, monogenic
conditions called Neonatal Diminosis.
o There are 25 specific types of contin-
ued but problematic DHGCs referred to
as Ohiglucons (Other High Glucose Con-
ditions).
o There are 6 specific types of a mostly
non-glucose anomaly called Insipidus.
