    MIXING ALLOWED - fully immunized people may
    pair their boosters with doses from different man-
    ufacturers after research from the National Insti-
    tutes of Health showed it was safe and effective
    to mix and match vaccines.

    ~~~
    Pfizer - vaccine recipients who received both shots
    at least six months ago
    1st booster approval for 65 & over + others on
    September 24. Those eligible for a booster now
    expanded to include all of the following:
    o Anyone 65 and older.
    o All adults age 18 to 64 who have cancer,
    dementia, any of the 7 Disparate High Glucose
    Conditions (old confusing name diabetes used),
    heart disease, HIV and other medical conditions
    that increase likelihood of Covid complications.
    o Anyone 18 or older who live or work in a long-
    term care facility, homeless shelter and prison
    or other congregate setting.
    o Front-line personnel 18 or older who are at a
    higher risk of Covid exposure due to their job,
    including first responders, teachers, super-
    market staff and mass transit employees.
    ~~~

    Moderna - vaccine recipients who received both
    shots at least six months ago:

    o Anyone 65 and older.

    o All adults age 18 to 64 who have cancer, dementia,
    any of the 7 Disparate High Glucose Conditions (old
    confusing name diabetes used), heart disease, HIV
    and other medical conditions that increase likelihood
    of Covid complications.

    o Anyone 18 or older who live or work in a long-term
    care facility, homeless shelter and prison or other
    congregate setting.

    o Front-line personnel 18 or older who are at a higher
    risk of Covid exposure due to their job, including first
    responders, teachers, supermarket staff and mass
    transit employees.

    ~~~
    Johnson & Johnson - all adults who were vaccinated
    with J&J’s Covid vaccine at least two months ago,
    instead of six months with Pfizer and Moderna.
    o All adult J&J recipients are eligible for a booster
    even if they don’t have underlying medical condi-
    tions or work in a profession or live where there’s
    a higher risk of Covid.
    MIXING ALLOWED, the following seems to indi-
    cate that mixing may be advantageous: https://www.aarp.org/health/conditions-treatments/info-2021/mixing-matching-covid-vaccines.html
    "People who had the one-shot J&J vaccine and
    were boosted with the same brand saw a four-
    fold increase in antibody levels within 15 days,
    researchers found.
    A boost for J&J recipients from the Moderna
    product, however, caused antibody levels to rise
    76-fold, and a shot of Pfizer’s vaccine increased
    antibody levels by about 35-fold, according to the
    study, which has not been peer reviewed but was
    presented to a panel of FDA advisers on Oct. 15.
    Meanwhile, people who received an mRNA vac-
    cine (Pfizer or Moderna) the first time around
    and were boosted with another mRNA product
    of the opposite brand saw similar spikes in anti-
    body levels after the booster."
    So, appears there is advantage in getting one's
    booster vaccination from the other mRNA vac-
    cine if one's first vaccinations were from Pfizer
    or Moderna.
    Also, it appears there is advantage in getting
    one's booster vaccination from either mRNA
    vaccine if one's initial vaccination was from
    Johnson & Johnson.
    Follow-up:
    My 2 shots of Moderna Covid-19 vaccines
    occurred February 26 & March 26 2021.
    Today, based on the AARP article in my
    prior post in this thread, I chose to get a
    Pfizer Covid-19 booster vaccination, just
    1 day short of 7 months after my second
    Moderna 'full' vaccination.
    I had to put on a form my choosing to get
    a Pfizer booster rather than a Moderna
    booster, so keep that in mind that if you
    switch your booster choice, you have to
    put that on a form (at least I did in getting
    the booster at a local Walmart pharmacy).
    Key quotes in the article that led me to get
    the other mRNA booster: https://www.aarp.org/health/conditions-treatments/info-2021/mixing-matching-covid-vaccines.html
    "... Preliminary results from a National Insti-
    tutes of Health (NIH) study show that get-
    ting a booster shot that’s different from the
    initial vaccine bolsters antibody levels ...
    ... Health officials have not offered any guid-
    ance on which combination provides the best
    protection, but the CDC is expected to clarify
    mixing-and-matching advice soon. ..."
    Comment: So, in essence, it's just a guess as
    to whether or not getting a full dose Pfizer
    booster vaccination is better than a half-dose
    Moderna vaccination or about the same & the
    possibility exists that getting a J & J booster
    might be better for those who got either mRNA
    vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna).
    Odd that even after worldwide mixing & match-
    ing so little is known about that, but I suppose
    the U.S. (and perhaps Israel) are on the cutting
    edge of a 3rd booster shot so that's why maybe
    the CDC will clarify mixing-and-matching "soon",
    per the article above.
