From _@21:1/5 to All on Wed Oct 13 21:52:10 2021
    Follow-up:

They return to the scene 17 minutes into
the episode, with Dr. Max Goodwin & some
others from his staff talking to some men
    in the same neighborhood.

The man with Cellosis from the previous
presence at the scene 13 minutes 22 sec-
onds into the episode, he's riding a bike &
runs into a pole & falls to the ground. Dr.
Goodwin runs over to him as the man with
Cellosis tries to stand & can't.

A co-worker of Dr. Goodwin removes his
shoe & sock & sees his foot is "badly in-
fected." They call for transport to take him
    to New Amsterdam.

    Follow-up 2:

The Cellosis man, when he got to New
    Amsterdam, he was immediately diag-
nosed as needing to have his foot ampu-
tated. 36 minutes 44 seconds into the
episode, he's looking at his amputated
    foot.

Nurse says "Your diabetes got out of
    control because medication alone can
only do so much." -If- the Cellosis word
    replaced the misleading confusing dia-
betes word without clarifier, she should
have said "We don't know why your foot ...

... got infected & had to be amputated.
We suspect the medications you were
using to deal with Cellosis were not
    adequately lowering your glucose lev-
els. How often were your HbA1c levels
tested & what was your most recent
    HbA1c level?"

Or something like that. The nurse then
chides the Cellosis man telling him to
change the way he's eating "to have a
    fighting chance. Leafy greens, legumes,
    lean proteins -- healthy living."

The nurse convinces him to plant seeds.
Presumably the moral of this tale is that
    Cellosis, medications are insufficient &
    lifestyle will prevent Cellosis individuals
    from having amputations, high glucose
    levels, heart attacks, strokes, amputa-
tions, blindness, kidney failure & other
    adverse consequences.

The fact that major lifestyle change is
something few people are able to pull
off on a multi-year level, the nurse ap-
parently isn't aware of that & her scoff-
ing at medications, she also isn't aware
    of their value.

As for how often the Cellosis man had
doctor appointments to check on his
    Cellosis, unaddressed in the episode.
