Previously, I had commented that I wear
a double face mask. I recently read that
it's recommended that one wears an N95
or KN95 face mask. The face masks I've
been wearing are not N95 or KN95 face
masks.
The package my current face masks comes
in says their bacteria filtration is greater than
95%. The following N95 face masks are cer-
tified to filter at least 95% of airborne particles
0.3 microns and larger. Here's what one web-
site offers about that:
. “Face masks with an N95 certification block
. 95% of airborne particles as small as 0.3 mi-
. crons. Viruses are smaller than 0.3 microns,
. but airborne particles that viruses actually
. 'ride' on (viruses don’t ride by themselves,
. they need something to ride on) are usually
. larger than that, making these masks effec-
. tive at capturing most aerosolized droplets
. formed by coughing and sneezing.”
I searched at amazon.com and at the CDC
approved N95 face mask websites
https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npptl/topics/respirators/disp_part/N95list1sect3.html
and decided to buy 20 FT-N040 face masks
made by Suzhou Fangtian:
https://smile.amazon.com/NIOSH-Approved-Mask-Particulate-Respirator/dp/B08JZL41H8/ref=sr_1_25?crid=QK2KV27Q5UGZ&dchild=1&keywords=n95+masks+niosh+approved+made+in+usa&qid=1628303060&sprefix=n95+masks+NIOSH%2Caps%2C220&sr=8-25
I'll get those next Thursday. At that point, I'll
wear one of those N95 face masks + I'll wear
2 of my previously used face masks on top of
the N95 face mask for max protection.
Here's the article I read that recommended
N95 face masks to protect against the delta
variant:
