• (Fiction) Author research

I am a fiction author writing a scene where EMS is called to the scene of a woman who overdosed on heroin. This is happening in the 1960s, so Narcan is not an option. I know I'm taking a bit of creative license putting EMTs on scene, since my research
indicates that this was at the very beginning of regional emergency medical system, and paramedics may not have been available. However, that's the fun part of being an author. :-)

That said, I would like for my conversation between the Main Character and the hospital to be as authentic as possible. (I'm guessing that's who the EMTs would talk to, but that's based on tv, so I apologize if I've got it wrong.)

I looked up the symptoms of a heroin overdose and am using cyanosis, low blood pressure (could use actual numbers here) and a weak pulse. Any additions or corrections here would be welcome.

My question: what would that conversation sound like?

Thanks for any help you can give.
    Best,
    clr
