title: Murder in Elmont. Pregnant woman, 29, found in living
    room dead from bullet wounds

by: Gale Scott and Letta Taylor

An eight-months pregnant New York City emergency medical
technician was found shot dead in the living room of her
Elmont home yesterday, Nassau County police said.

Faith McKeon, 29, who was also the daughter-in-law of
Bellerose's former mayor, was found dead by her husband
at about 6:55 a.m. at a home the couple rented on Oakley
    Avenue, police said.

McKeon, a native of Jamaica who also used the last name
Cox, had been shot in the head and chest, according to a
death certificate issued by the Nassau County Medical
Examiner's Office. Both police and the medical examiner
listed the death as a homicide.

Police spent several hours yesterday interviewing
McKeon's husband, Kevin McKeon, 25, who also is a New York
City emergency medical technician. They also questioned
the victim's 6-year-old daughter by a previous marriage,
who was in the house through the night of the murder.

Police cautioned that McKeon is not a suspect. "Presently,
we have no suspects," said a police spokesman, Det. Frederic Eno.

Kevin McKeon returned from work shortly before 2 a.m.,
saw his wife in a chair in the living room and thought
she was sleeping, Edwards said. Because of her advanced
pregnancy, McKeon sometimes found it more comfortable to
sleep in the chair, Edwards said. At that time, the
    lights were out, Eno said.

Shortly before 7 a.m., the husband came downstairs
and saw his wife in the same position, Edwards said.
"He realized something was wrong, he felt her pulse, and he
    called police," Edwards said.

Kevin McKeon reported his wife was unconscious, not
shot, when he called 911, police said. But police
pronounced her dead from gunshot wounds when they arrived
    at the scene.

Police also declined to comment on reports from co-workers
at New York City Emergency Medical Service that Kevin McKeon
had recently expressed concerns that his wife was the object
of unwanted attention from a rejected suitor.

There was no sign of a break-in at the house, said homicide squad
    Det. Sgt. Robert Edwards.

"I don't think anyone in the neighborhood has a reason to
be afraid at this time," he said.

Police would not reveal whether the daughter saw anything
or was asleep through the night.

The exact time of McKeon's death, as well as that of
the fetus inside her womb, is still under investigation,
an investigator with the medical examiner's office said.

Kevin McKeon could not be reached for comment yesterday
and his lawyer, who refused to give his name, said only
    that his client was "distraught."

According to co-workers, Kevin McKeon married the
former Faith A. Cox less than a year ago.

The five-foot-one Faith McKeon was remembered as a
lively woman who was often outspoken in her dealings with
others. In February, she had been placed on disability
leave and was receiving worker's compensation for an
injury unrelated to her pregnancy, said EMS spokeswoman Lynn Schulman.

The workers said McKeon is a son of the late Thomas M.
McKeon, mayor of Bellerose Village until he died of a
heart attack last month at age 59. Thomas McKeon also had
been a two-term chief of the Bellerose Fire Department and
held several other posts in the village. Members of the McKeon
    family declined to comment.

Grim-faced neighbors huddled outside the Elmont house
in the freezing wind yesterday morning, watching police
carry McKeon's body out in a large, zipped-up bag. "We're
shocked. It's such a quiet neighborhood," said George Baker,
    who lives around the corner.

Is there any update to this story? I know there was an investigation on the murder, but there's no recorded follow-up story. Also, why is this report different from the one listed in the New York Times? There are details that vary between these two
    stories.
I'm very interested in learning the conclusion from this story, if anyone has updates.
