Removed from leadership positions as deputy whip and chairman of a
subcommittee on criminal justice on Aug. 24, 2018, after an
investigation by a legislative ethics panel into allegations of
sexual assault, unwanted kissing and inappropriate comments. The
panel also recommended he go through “intensive harassment awareness
and prevention training.” A panel report released Sept. 7 said it
couldn’t resolve conflicting accounts of an alleged 2004 sexual
assault of a legislative staffer but found Anderson violated the anti-harassment policy in other instances.
