Until last Friday, I had an office with a window. My FM radio was about
12 feet from the window and pulled in most of the stations I listen to
fairly clearly. Now I've moved inward away from the windows. The
building is full of structural steel, suspended ceilings, metal desks
and cabinets, and wires and cables that all conspire to prevent me from listening to the radio.
Is there anything I can do to improve the reception? I barely get
anything at all. Would one of those "power antennas" do anything? (only $29.95 if you call by midnight tonight. And as a special bonus, we'll
throw in the ginsu knives for free.) Or is there something simpler I
could try, like wrapping aluminum foil around the antenna or something?
My main radio is a big SONY AM/FM CD/cassette player. I also have a DAK shortwave/FM radio. I've seen that DAK now sells some kind of antenna booster for this radio (kind of makes me wonder why it wasn't just built
in to the radio in the first place!). Is this worth the price?
All hints would be greatly appreciated. I've gone two days now without
my radio, and I'm not sure how much longer I can hold out! :-)
