Philosophy professor once wrote *A Philosophy for Lowbrows*. Not sure if this approaches describing a frugal-living sort of philosophy.

What I find interesting is how "selves" are described. On pg. 39 he talks about different selves as bodily, play loving, fun loving, social, beauty loving, truth loving, and goodness loving. Thinks some conflict with others, some are more important to
others, but all are in play.
