If Word for Windows crashes when you try to create a bulleted or

I don't know what is the corresponding step in MacWord; you will have to
ask in the Word for Mac forum at http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macoffice2016-macword?sort=lastreplydate&dir=desc&tab=threads.

You have replied to a rather old thread. Would you please describe the problem

It doesn't work at all. :-(

Assuming that you are using Word 2007, you should try deleting the
ListGal.dat file. (For Word 97-2003, delete the List Gallery Presets key in
the registry.) If that doesn't work, the document itself might be damaged.
    Try Open and Repair.

I have the same annoying problem on a the Greek version of Word and when
opening documents that have hyphenation from other version (previous) of
    Word
    (like 97).

Since I have no access to the older Word, how can I workaround the >>>>> problem?

I cannot open the document at all. It crashes with the same above message.

So here we are in 2015 and I am having the same issue on MS Office 2013 using Windows 10 and also using Office 2016 (through Office 365) on my Mac Book Pro. This started last night and is paralysing my work! Why is this happening?
    Paul

So my problem is that the word document i had been working on all night saved itself as ListGal.DAT. I tried to convert it back to doc but the content is all gibberish symbols. Is there any possible way I could retrieve any of my work? I've already
missed my deadline but I'm just hoping I won't need to rewrite a 30 page research paper :'(
