• Packages per minute?

    From ChrisD1189@21:1/5 to All on Wed May 9 23:54:02 2018
    Ok, so I'm new here and looking to set up an excel doc for my operations
    on the packages per minute they can run at various known speeds.

    Now I know the speed of the conveyor in FPM, but I don't know how many
    packages will go through at the speeds set. I also have the measurement
    of the packages going through the scanner as well.

    Now I asked someone and the formula he gave me seems a little off. so in
    the example I gave him:
    FPM = 625
    Each package = 25"
    Gap between packages = 4"

    He was saying the formula is 625FPM X 12" / 29"

    The issue is, the number I'm getting from this calculation doesn't seem
    to equal the production numbers in a 20 hour day that we have done
    before.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    I think the problem is you haven't factored in Time.
    You formula gives packages per minute. Multiply by 1200 I.e. 20 hours x 60 minutes
