Keyboard shortcut to increase every value in a column?

We enter data in a spreadsheet.
Somehow, after discovering discrepancies it seems that someone has
managed to increase every value in part of a column by 1.
I've looked at the process for doing this and i'm thinking it would take
some coincidence to do it by accident (select-copy-paste special.....),
unless there is an *easy* way that i'm not aware of.
Is there such a way that anyone knows of?
Or are we dealing with a super-klutz? I'm 100% sure it wasn't done deliberately.
