From Bob Henson@21:1/5 to All on Wed Dec 18 19:17:17 2019
I am using Microsoft Word 2007. I would like to be able to insert the long
date with ordinal numbers - ie. instead of 18 December 2019 I would like
18th December 2019. I can find a way using > Insert > Quick Parts to insert
the ordinal date number only into a page using
DATE \@ "d" \* ordinal
in the field code and presumably I could then add a separate field code
DATE \@ "MMMM yyyy"
to it to complete the date. However, I cannot find a way to
a) concatenate the two into one line (that's not essential - I could use
two separate fields in a macro to do it) but more importantly
b) to permanently save the resultant field/s so it/they could be reused
from the Quick Parts Menu.
As I never wish to use anything but the ordinal number in the long date (in
or out of Word) - I would be delighted to be permanently edit the Field
Code for DATE - or even to change the way that Windows itself shows the
long date. I did try the latter but can't modify the symbols allowed in the setup.
I've looked around Google quite a bit and found a few ideas but none seem
to function here.
