I can maintain media-gfx/feh and x11-misc/xclip, I maintained feh for slackbuilds.org for a few years when I was more active there.

Would I just submit a PR to change the maintainer status?

Are there really that few people using them?
I thought these were popular packages.
Of the list, I only use feh, qbittorrent and libtorrent-rasterbar.
Thank you to those who said they are willing to maintain feh, Orbea
and Yixun Lan.
What is going to happen to the other 2 packages?
Hope I won't have to add them to my overlay.
On another note, I've seen plenty of people with a reported client of libtorrent.
Is it possible to run libtorrent by itself?

Even the most popular package can be temporarily without a maintainer
if the only maintainer leaves until someone else picks it up. That's
why we send these mails to advertise.

Packages don't get removed nor entirely unmaintained just because
they became maintainer-needed. Others can still do work/PRs until
it gains a permanent maintainer.
