• [gentoo-user] media-libs/lcms-2.13 causes weird printer output

From Stefano Crocco@21:1/5 to All on Mon Jan 31 21:00:02 2022
    Hello to everyone,
since upgrading media-libs/lcms from version 2.12 to 2.13, any text document I print has a dark gray background instead of a white one. The printer is a HP OfficeJetPro 8715 which uses hplip and works correctly with lcms-2.12. I tried with PDF files and with LibreOffice text documents and the result is the same.

Has anyone had similar issues? I was going to file a bug report, but before doing so I'd like to know whether it can be an issue with my system. Searching google I didn't find anything.

    Thanks in advance

    Stefano

I recently had print related problem on a HP Laserjet with default CUPS
driver ("HP LaserJet Series PCL 6 CUPS"): in my case when evince prints
a PDF document containing text and a QR image the text is rendered
correctly while the QR is rendered black on dark gray background, making
it unusable. The same PDF prints fine from GIMP, so I exclude a driver
    issue. I've not tested LibreOffice.

Based on your email I downgraded lcms to 2.12 from 2.13 and the evince
issue is gone (thanks!). So it's not exactly your problem, but it is
    related to lcms.
