• Voting period

From Kurt Roeckx@21:1/5 to All on Sat Sep 17 01:20:01 2022
    Hi,

I will most likely start the voting period tomorrow evening, so
    2022-09-18 00:00 UTC.

I did not have time to put the last option on the website, but it has
    enough seconds.

I welcome suggestion for the ballot texts.

Tentative proposal, and the proponents of other options should jump in and correct these.

A: "Only one installer, including non-free firmware"
B: "Recommend installer containing non-free firmware"
C: "Provide installers with and without non-free firmware"
D: "Installer with non-free firmware not part of Debian"
E: "Change SC for non-free firmware in installer, one installer"
F: "Change SC for non-free firmware in installer, keep both installers"

It's tricky to word the last two sufficiently succinctly to keep them on
one line without making them too cryptic. Any better suggestions very
    much welcome.

D: "Installer with non-free firmware not part of Debian"

D: "Installer with non-free software not part of Debian"

That looks the same? Do you mean to says "is not part of Debian"?

It's "non-free firmware" vs "non-free software". I had to read three
    times too.

The website should be updated, I'm preparing the ballot.

It seems that the constitution on
https://www.debian.org/devel/constitution has not been updated after https://www.debian.org/vote/2022/vote_001

It's my understanding that all votes are now secret votes like in the
    cae of a DPL election.

The difference is "firmware" replaced by "software". The word "firmware" is nowhere in the texts of options C and D.
