• Bug#870805: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics: One-finger-controlled drag-n-

From Sergio B.@21:1/5 to All on Sat Aug 5 12:00:02 2017
    XPost: linux.debian.bugs.dist

    Package: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics
    Version: 1.9.0-1+b1
    Severity: normal

One-finger drag-n-drop (double tap, hold, drug) does not work on Dell 500 laptop (with some single-touch Alps touchpad). I have to use second finger
to keep left touchpad button "pressed" for dragging. Option "tap is click"
is activated in settings panel and _does_ work. Double tap also does like double-click as expected.
The same (but i386) Debian 9 installation on another my laptop Thinkpad T60 performs taps, double taps, and drag-n-drops as expected.

I also have to say the package was not installed automatically by debian-installer on both laptops so initially I had no "Touchpad" tab in
mouse settings panel of Mate DE. I do not know is it by design or should be also reported to somewhere...
