• Bug#872169: [www.debian.org] validate script uses nsgmls which is in sp

    XPost: linux.debian.bugs.dist

    Package: www.debian.org
    Severity: normal

The tool "validate" (used the cron scripts that are called in the website build)
seems to rely in /usr/bin/nsgmls and the nsgmls tool it's in the "sp" package, which is not present in stretch (and in sid, only in arm64):

    https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/debwww/cron.git/tree/scripts/validate line 49

We probable need to adapt the validate script to use onsgmls (in opensp package)
instead, otherwise when the www-master.debian.org machine is upgraded to stretch, the validate script will not work.

Once that we switch to the new tool, it would be interesting to try to reproduce
all the bugs related to "validate", to see if they are still present or they get
    solved.

I'll create a RT ticket to let DSA know our progress in this bug, in order to be
taken into account when planning the migration of the www-master.debian.org machine.

    Best regards
