    Hi folks,

my colleagues complain about maven 3.6.0 in Buster, because
apparently there are some incompatibilities/bugs to version
3.6.3 they are used to on other platforms.

Do you think it would be possible to provide a backport for
    maven 3.6.3 on Buster?

I think we will also need to update libmodello-maven-plugin-java, libmodello-java and libplexus-utils2-java in backport to update maven.
Do you see any problem with that?

    Hi Sudip,

I don't remember but I think the versioned dependencies are properly set
to ensure a smooth backporting. Go ahead, if it breaks I'll look into it.

ok, so 3.6.3-1 is in backports, but looks like I will need to update
backports to 3.6.3-3 after it has migrated.

This has been fixed in maven/3.6.3-2. :(

    I think I will cherry-pick 'dab78d9e64' and upload '3.6.3-1~bpo10+2'
    to backports for now.
And then will update other dependencies in backports to upload maven/3.6.3-3 later.

    @Emmanuel Bourg Is that ok?

Backporting maven/3.6.3-5 would be better, but picking at least 3.6.3-2
+ the build dependency on maven-debian-helper/2.6 would be fine too.

I am aiming for maven/3.6.3-5 and almost all the dependencies are
    uploaded to backports-NEW now.
Except libguice-java, looks like it will need a versioned dependency
on libguava-java (>= 29.0). The build of libguice-java fails without
the new libguava-java. I have now pushed libguava-java to
    backports-NEW.
Is it ok to add a versioned dependency in the libguice-java backport
or will you prefer it via unstable first and then to backports after
    it has migrated ?

There was a backports-NEW run today, packages I uploaded last week
were processed, so I guess the queue’ll be emptying soonish.

    That’s okay.
