Unfortunately I do not believe that this problem is resolved yet; my understanding is that the issue appears when DEBUG mode is enabled, meaning that compression is _disabled_, and so the dependency on django-compressor is not directly relevant.

The problem originates from some non-well-formed HTML in the hyperkitty templates.
