while working on the time64 bootstraps, I noticed that the b-d on
ghostscript is unneeded, at least the build succeeds without it.

Please can you check if it can be removed, or if you could make it
conditional with a build profile?

besides ghostscript, these are at least some more: transfig, imagemagick.

please disable these by default, and then add a profile which you can
use to build with maintainer mode. This would ease to build the package
in bootstrap processes.
