Hi,
This bug has been open for eight months now. It caused transmission to be removed from testing twice, in August and March. It's labeled "severity: serious" and "tags: patch".
How can we help to get the patch applied and the bug fixed?
I would love to use this package in testing, and more importantly I really want to use this in the next stable.

I'm also available to prepare an upload, but would need sponsorship.
From my point of view, the solution provided is satisfactory and
fixes the problem. I'm a user have been happily running a build
with my patch for months.
I've had no feedback from the maintainers since January I think.
