• Bug#1063499: rust-gobject-sys FTBFS with nocheck build profile: cp: can

From Helmut Grohne@21:1/5 to All on Thu Feb 8 23:20:01 2024
    Source: rust-gobject-sys
    Version: 0.18.0-2
    Severity: serious
    Tags: ftbfs trixie sid

rust-gobject-sys fails to build from source in unstable when built with
the nocheck build profile. Since trixie, a nocheck build failure is
considered release-critical. A build ends with:

    | debian/rules execute_before_dh_auto_build
    | make[1]: Entering directory '/<<PKGBUILDDIR>>'
    | cp /usr/share/gir-1.0/GObject-2.0.gir /<<PKGBUILDDIR>>
    | cp: cannot stat '/usr/share/gir-1.0/GObject-2.0.gir': No such file or directory
    | make[1]: *** [debian/rules:8: execute_before_dh_auto_build] Error 1
    | make[1]: Leaving directory '/<<PKGBUILDDIR>>'
    | make: *** [debian/rules:3: binary] Error 2
    | dpkg-buildpackage: error: debian/rules binary subprocess returned exit status 2

    Please review the <!nocheck> annotations.

    Helmut
