• Bug#1059971: libgl1-mesa-dri: X doesn't start after mesa upgrade from 2

Pierre Erraud kirjoitti 4.1.2024 klo 11.20:
    Package: libgl1-mesa-dri
    Version: 23.3.2-1
    Severity: important

After doing my usual `apt-get dist-upgrade` this morning & reboot,
I could not get into gdm anymore. Downgrading to 23.2.1-1 all the
mesa packages makes it work again. I have seen similar bugs, but
they are old, I don't know if they are related or not.

    Happy new year!

    [     9.518] (EE) AIGLX error: dlopen of /usr/lib/x86_64-linux- gnu/dri/i965_dri.so failed (/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-
gnu/dri/i965_dri.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file
    or directory)
[     9.518] (EE) AIGLX error: unable to load driver i965

That driver is not from mesa, but mesa-amber, which isn't even in
    Debian
    (yet).

Yes the error is not there.
I looked at a Xorg.0.log when I am using mesa 23.2.1, and I have the
same error with the i965 driver, as you said:

    ...
[ 303.274] (II) Initializing extension GLX
    [ 303.274] (EE) AIGLX error: dlopen of /usr/lib/x86_64-linux- gnu/dri/i965_dri.so failed (/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/i965_dri.so:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)
[ 303.274] (EE) AIGLX error: unable to load driver i965
[ 303.289] (II) IGLX: Loaded and initialized swrast
[ 303.289] (II) GLX: Initialized DRISWRAST GL provider for screen 0
    ...

My error here is not related to the i965 driver, it's the segfault just
    after in OsLookupColor.

I will try to do a backtrace to understand what's happening exactly.
