  • Newest Tor version is out-of-date

    This is a multi-part message in MIME format. Why is it that the newest Tor build/binary for mips is from 2018? I would very much appropriate a newer version.

    Tor version which seems to be available is 0.2.9.16-1.

    Latest Tor source from their website is 0.4.2.6.

    This is the latest version available in Debian stretch. If you want to
    use a newer version, I suggest that you upgrade to Debian buster and/or
    use the backport repository.

    Unfortunately, upgrading is not an option as I'm using an EdgeRouter
    from Ubiquiti which uses EdgeOS which is then based off on stretch.

    Then you should use stretch-backports-sloppy which has a newer tor.
